I bought this so i could have an internet connection with both my xbox 360 and my computer. but even though they were both plugged into this only one would have the internet connection. kind of pointless to have 5 ports on this if only one thing is going to keep the internet connection.
Netgear support was kind enought to tell me it was dead and I needed to go buy a new switch. Died after 3 mo. All lights come on and stay on. Have very hard time signing into Netgear site to get any additional. They appear to not be offering any warranty.
It does what it's supposed to.connect multiple devices to the internet. In my case I was able to connect my Roku to my network and now I super happy.
This is the little box that could. Not a big deal or much of a concern but you may just want to be aware of it. You're done and it works.
No setup required. Cons: Lights stay on indicating connections. Pros: It works right out of the box.
Small form factor is great for small spaces. Plug in a network source, plug in your computers or network devices, and plug in the power adapter. That's it.
I find this a helpful feature but it you put this in a room you or someone will sleep in you may want to consider pointing it toward the wall or covering the lights with a piece of vinyl tape. Overall: Great little way to spread your network for a very reasonable price.
We needed more connections for my home/office high speed internet and Direct TV DVR system. Well, this little box did the trick. There is virtually no noticeable difference in the speed and now we can download movies of the internet right onto the DVRs. I would highly recommend this for anyone who needs more Ethernet connections.
